History: 

My swimming career began under the tutelage of Tom Gresty. On completion of the honours challenge award, I was approached by Tom Gresty in the summer of 1998 to join his organisation as a lifeguard.

As the swim school began to take off, and started to become more successful and demanding, I set my heart on teaching swimming and in August 2001, I qualified as an assistant teacher.

However that wasn’t enough for me, there was so much of swimming that I wanted to know. I continued shadowing and learning from senior teachers, coaches and from Rugby Swimming club. Then in August 2003 I qualified as Level 2 Swimming instructor.

Since then I have also worked at closely with Rugby Swimming Club, Leicester Sharks Swimming Club, and while studying law decided to set up the first De Montfort University Swimming Club.

The following year we qualified and the swimmers received their opportunity to represent themselves and their university in BUSA (British University Swimming Association).

I only care about the kids, and currently i have to opportunity to guide our future younger teachers/coaches to make sure they try their best to make sure they and the children have a lot of fun, and keep it all a fun-relaxed atmosphere. I like to get the work done in an organised fashion while making sure that the kids learn something new every week so they can swim faster, with minimal effort.

Swimming is a big part of my life, and I hope to be a part of it for a long time. I hope as many people have a love for the sport and become part of it, as I did.

I am hoping to continue with Tom Gresty Swim School until I can wear the “old

swimmers never die, they simply crawl away” sweater.

Interests:

I love my sports; I play 5 a-side football twice a week, badminton, volleyball and cricket. I also have an interest in forensic science.

Favourite stroke: Breast Stroke.." the most technical but most effective stroke to master"
